Yr 2 - Day 299

Countertop is in!! Just need the final plumbing and she's good to go. Oh and for some reason the Electrolux Icon induction cooktop won't power up so someone is coming to check on that.

The view to the old kitchen the day we viewed the house. (where the old stove is is where the new oven is.)

The Old kitchen now.

New kitchen - wheeeeeee! (The pendants and sink are approx. where the old wall used to be)

Very cool! I love kitchens. It looks like you gained a lot of space to work with in there! It looks very nice.

The paperstone looks great! I am thinking about using as well...Have you had any issues you notice yet with cleaning and keeping fingerprints off of it? Thanks!

Re: Paperstone. Immediately after you have oiled it (I use the Paperstone Conditioning Liquid) it can seem a little fingerprinty. I usually apply the wax later at night, leave it on for 15-30 minutes then softly wipe off some excess and then leave on overnight. Then in the morning I wipe it down with a clean dry rag. Against the walls where there is no "wear" from hands and dishes etc the wax stays and can gather a little dust so I try to rub it in a bit better there. However once the counter is buffed I have very little probs with fingerprints. You will find that if you slide appliances that have rubber feet, you will see marks in the wax but these and other "marks" just need to be wiped with the oily rag (I keep it in an unsealed ziploc) and they will disappear.
